Mama Robin and Her Babies Submitted by Moe Comeau What could be better sign that summer is around the corner than four hungry baby robins living at the corner of your back porch? The proof is this composite of three photos all relating to a robin's nest perched on the porch light. Top right insert shows its location. Main photo shows mama robin and three of the babies. Bottom shows that there are actually four hungry mouths within, taken right after mama left the nest for more food. It took three days and 95 tries to finally capture good shots. The closeups were shot using a tripod to hoist the camera up above the nest, and shooting them using the camera's 10-second timer delay. The closeups were no problem; I even used the flash on the one of the babies. The only problem was when I stood too near the nest once when mama wanted to return to deliver food. She buzzed me twice to make me move aside.
