Paul Freeman

T. Paul Freeman is our April member of the month. Paul and his mother Paulette are mostly known for their smiles and happy disposition. They exude enthusiasm and have endeared themselves to the MLMUG family quickly. We'll learn about Paul's early years in Philly, his educational career, his outstanding humanitarian contributions and recognitions and his influence on his mother's choice for the Mac.

Paul was born and raised in Philadelphia. His pleasant disposition enabled him to interact successfully with both adults and peers alike. Paul has had many distinguishing awards. The first award he received was the Frank Sullivan Humanitarian Award from the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. Paul went to the High School For Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) and graduated in 1991. His humanity and patience to those less fortunate received additional recognition from a group of teachers from CAPA's Special Education Department who gave him Hallmark cards and summer clothes. He received the Best Male Vocalist and the Louis G. Wersen Music Award, both given by the faculty at CAPA as well as The Most Improved Student Award bestowed by the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. At this time he attended several prestigious summer programs.

His first year at college was spent at Duquesne University but graduated from the Westminster Choir College. Paul finds pleasure working as a Theater Technician and for the Freeman Educational Services, Inc., which he co-founded with his mother.

"My interest and passion for computers peaked while I attended Westminster College and worked for four years in their Music Laboratory," said Paul with a twinkle in his smiling eyes. One can see the pleasure relating this experience brings to him. He added, "I've encouraged my mother to learn more about Mac computers." They now own several Macintoshes ranging from the vintage Apple IIe, a G3 blue tower, a G3 iBook, and the purple and white iMac.

Paul wanted to learn more about his beloved Macs and found the Main Line Macintosh User's Group perfect for this. He and his mother joined in May 2002. They attend every meeting and every function. They are very happy belonging to the MLMUG family.
