Richard E. Copp Jr.'s courageous 21-year battle with neurofibromatosis ended Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, when he left this world to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He was 40.
Richard is survived by his mother, Laurianne (Russell) of Warminster and was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Copp Sr.
He had attended William Tennent High School and later Philadelphia Community College.
Richard was a member of St. Isidore's Roman Catholic Church in Quakertown. He also was a member of Main Line Mac Users Group, where he met many wonderful friends. He had a passion for the computer and the internet as he did for rebuilding his 1970 Camaro into racing form. Among some of his loves were astronomy and space exploration, animals and wildlife, and traveling before becoming disabled. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and great smile.
Also surviving are his sisters and brothers: Valerie Condran of Philadelphia, Carol Smith (Frank) of Warminster, Paula Long (Bill) of Doylestown, James (Debbie) of Colmar and Steve (Ann) of Birdsboro. Richard also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Brittan and Dan Griesemer and their daughter, Morgan of Philadelphia, Missy Copp, Robbie Copp and Michael Flynn of Warminster, Chrissy and Emily Smith also of Warminster, Stephanie Long of Doylestown, and Matthew and Joey Copp of Birdsboro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at St. Isidore's R.C. Church, 531 W. Broad St. Quakertown, where friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Warrington Township.
